1. Our commitment to accessibility
FuturFund is committed to making our website accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. Accessibility and inclusion are core to our mission, and we believe everyone should be able to access financial education and feel welcome in our community.
We are working to ensure our website provides an accessible, usable experience for all visitors, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing effort rather than a one-time project.
2. Standards we aim to meet
As an organization operating in Ontario, we are committed to accessibility and have adopted the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and its Integrated Accessibility Standards Regulation as guiding standards, whether or not all AODA requirements apply directly to FuturFund based on organization size. Our website currently meets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level AA requirements. We are working toward conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA to reflect evolving best practices in digital accessibility.
3. What we are doing
Steps we take to support accessibility include:
- Designing content with clear, plain language — consistent with our brand commitment to simplicity;
- Aiming for sufficient colour contrast and readable text;
- Providing text alternatives for meaningful images where possible;
- Structuring pages with headings and labels to support navigation;
- Providing captions or transcripts for video content where possible;
- Considering accessibility when we add new content and features.
4. Known limitations
We are continually improving, and some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible. As we add new features (such as donations, e-commerce, and learning management systems), we will review and address accessibility as part of that work. 5. Third-party content
Some content on our website may be provided by third parties or embedded from external platforms. We may not have full control over the accessibility of this content, but we encourage our partners and providers to meet accessibility standards.
