Meet the Movement
The Story of FuturFund

Turning confidence into capital

Founded by two high school students, Katherine and Sara, FuturFund started as a passion project grounded in lived experience. The early days were scrappy, intuitive, and full of heart, laying the groundwork for what would become a growing movement built on empowerment, community, and confidence.

The name began with a simple idea: “Fund your future.” Inspired by the importance of investing—not just in finance, but in knowledge and confidence—the words were flipped to create a name that felt fresh, bold, and forward-looking. Today, FuturFund is a national initiative redefining what financial literacy looks and feels like for young women.

Our Mission

At FuturFund, we believe every young woman deserves to feel confident about money—no matter where she’s starting from. Whether she’s feeling unsure, curious, or just beginning to explore the world of personal finance, we provide the support, tools, and community she needs to take charge of her financial future. Because learning about money should feel empowering—not overwhelming.

Our Vision

We’re empowering a generation of financially confident leaders—starting from the ground up. Because when young women have access to financial literacy, they gain the confidence needed to take control of their futures.

55% of women employees in Canada
say they want to improve their financial literacy.

Our Goal

1 million women & girls with TFSAs by 2035. If 1 million women and girls in Canada each open a TFSA and consistently invest until retirement, we could unlock over $3.17 trillion in lifetime wealth creation—equivalent to $85 billion in today’s dollars, or 0.8% of Canada’s total investable wealth.

This isn’t just about financial literacy, it’s about shifting the wealth gap, one account at a time.

Our Approach

Financial institutions often struggle to meet youth where they are—on social media and on campus. Social media reaches them, but the content is often unregulated and unreliable. FuturFund bridges this gap by delivering credible, professional financial literacy resources to young people where they are already engaging—to build a growing movement rooted in support, education, and lasting impact.
